Pro Soccer Agent!?

Is it possible to get on a pro soccer team without an Agent because i have gone to alot of soccer tryout and the players they selected i was way better than them. The last tryout i went was seattle sounders i was there for 2days didn't get chosen and thie cme came from nowhere and he got chosen, later i heard from a close source that if you can't afford an A gent then you can't get on any pro soccer team so i would like to find out how true that it and if it is true how do i find an Agent and how much does it cost to get one?
