My wii won't turn on??

sometimes when i try to turn my wii it doesn't respond. if i unplug the wii and plug it back in it works fine. whats up with that??its connected to the internet, and all the batteries are good i don't understand, do you always have to turn it on from the base?it is an internet problem??any help with this problem woul be great
